Tanzania

CIM’s strategic activities in Tanzania take place mainly in the development policy priority areas agreed between Tanzania and Germany. These areas are:

  • health, family planning, HIV/AIDS
  • water
  • conservation and sustainable use of natural resources in the forest and wildlife sectors

CIM  is working to expand future cooperation, especially in regard to reform of the health system.

In response to the request of partners with special development policy relevance, CIM has also been active in Tanzania in capacity-building for government institutions. Here CIM makes use of its scope to act outside development policy priority areas.

GTZ supports CIM in the implementation of its programme on the ground and cooperates closely with CIM experts, for example, in the GTZ programmes:

  • Advisory Services in Modernising the Tanzanian Revenue Authority
  • Advisory Services in Community-Based Wildlife Management.
