CIM will increasingly concentrate its future activities on the area of renewable energies and energy efficiency, in accordance with the 2005 agreement between Chile and Germany on the focus of German Development Cooperation. In response to the request of partners with special development policy relevance, CIM makes use of its scope to act in Chile outside development policy priority areas. This applies primarily to the promotion of commercial links between European and Chilean enterprises. GTZ supports CIM in the implementation of its programmes on the ground and cooperates closely with CIM experts. Besides the KfW Entwicklungsbank (KfW development bank) and the German Development Service (DED), other CIM cooperation partners in Chile are the Chilean Chamber of Foreign Commerce, the Ministry of Commerce of Baden-Württemberg and the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology. With the Returning Experts Programme, CIM also supports Chilean experts returning to Chile after studying, undertaking vocational training or working in Germany. They work primarily as engineers in the private sector or as university lecturers. Would you like to find out more about CIM's programmes and partners in Chile?
