Mexico

CIM’s strategic activities in Mexico take place mainly in the development policy priority area agreed between Mexico and Germany: environmental protection and sustainable use of natural resources.

Within this area are the following key activity areas:

  • waste management and contaminated site management
  • renewable energy sources
  • environmental information and monitoring.

CIM is working to intensify future cooperation, especially in management of the key resource, water.

Mexico is Latin America’s largest national economy and most important export country. The country has now established itself as the key interface between North and Latin America.  Consequently, CIM will work increasingly in Mexico with regional organisations, thus supporting  transfer of know-how from Mexico into neighbouring countries.
