Thailand

When German Development Cooperation with Thailand began more than four decades ago, it covered a broad range of sectors. Today it is concentrated, in line with the wishes of the Thai Government, on economic reform and development of the market system. CIM, too, limits its work in Thailand largely to this activity area.

CIM is working to intensify future cooperation in Thailand, especially in promoting the competitive capacity of Thai enterprises in the agro-industry sector.

Bangkok is, however, also the seat of many international organisations with supraregional operations and a correspondingly broad impact. CIM responds to the demand of such organisations for highly qualified technical and management personnel, where the vacancies are particularly relevant for development, for example, in sustainable forestry. Here CIM makes use of its scope to act outside development policy priority areas.
